Piri has recently graduated from Barry University earning a
degree in Business Administration and Management. He was a member of the
Barry University Golf team that won the 2007 NCAA Division II National
Championship. Along with winning the National Championship in 2007, Piri
also earned 1st team All-American Honors. He declared himself professional on the Minor League Golf Tour in the summer of '07 where he won his first tournament in his first ever career start as a professional golfer. He has won twice on the MLGT since turning professional and still competes on the tour. Borja also played on the 2007-08 Hooters Winter Series where he made 7 of 12 cuts and finished 26th on the money list for the winter. Borja is currently playing on the 2008 Hooters Pro Series where in his first event carded a 272 total (67-72-66-67= -16), and a tie for first place. Borja later went on to lose in a 5 hole playoff, but says that he experience gained from that tournament will definitely help him in his quest for the first big win on tour. When Piri is not playing on the Hooters Pro Series, he still regularly competes on the Minor League Golf Tour in South Florida. |
